REFORM REGULATORY COMMITTEE

Financial Crime Control Effectiveness

Can you demonstrate that your financial crime controls remain risk-based, effective and appropriately evidenced as risks evolve?

Reform is developing a broader industry initiative around Financial Crime Control Effectiveness: connecting risk identification, control coverage, testing, optimisation, change and evidence into a more coherent effectiveness lifecycle.

REGULATORY COMMITTEE

A practitioner-led initiative for the AMLR era

Reform is establishing a Regulatory Committee led by Elizabeth McCaul, Chair of the Board of Reform and former Member of the Supervisory Board of the European Central Bank. The Committee will bring together senior regulatory, supervisory, compliance, industry and academic perspectives to develop practical papers and methodologies around:

01

Financial Crime Control Effectiveness

02

AMLR and risk-based ongoing monitoring

03

Testing, calibration and optimisation of financial crime controls

04

Governance, accountability and evidence

05

The transition from rules to advanced analytics and AI

The objective is not to prescribe regulatory standards, but to contribute rigorous, practical and evidence-based thinking to the wider industry discussion.

“As financial crime frameworks become more sophisticated, institutions need stronger ways to understand, challenge and evidence whether their controls remain effective over time.”
